THE MYSTERIOUS Wolds Panther has been seen again, this time at North Somercotes.
A driver saw the creature just after 5pm on Sunday. The motorist, who did not want to be named, said: “I came onto Jubilee Road at the top end, I rounded the corner and the road straightened out, seconds after I saw a large, what I can only describe as a black cat run across the road quite fast and very smoothly.
“I had another person in the car with me and I asked if they had seen it as well, and obviously they had. I know it wasn’t a dog because it had a long quite thick tail which stood up behind it shaped a bit like a cobra snake. I know it wasn’t a domestic cat because it was too big, about the size of a medium sized dog. The cat ran across the road very smoothly and gracefully with only a few strides.
“Living in the village it has made me quite wary of walking around in the dark because whatever it was I would not like to come face to face with it.”
